Delicious By Design – From the Runway to Your Dessert Dish

Last spring we were contacted by InStyle magazine to see if we’d be interested in designing a collection of cookies inspired by runway fashion.  We of course said yes and began working on designs for our best selling custom sugar cookies, inspired by a Delpozo dress that the editors selected.

UntitledThe editors wanted to create a ‘how-to’ story for readers who were interested in recreating these fashion-inspired desserts at home.  So we spent time with them developing a step-by-step tutorial for enthusiastic at-home pastry chefs!

The four page feature was included in this month’s issue – which happens to be the magazine’s 20th Anniversary issue featuring Julia Roberts on the cover.



Untitled UntitledWe love the Ombre Crepe stack designed by assistant editor Anne Kim, and the Fringe Vanilla Cake by Lael Cakes.  (we know the intricacies of working with sugar to create beautifully crafted fondant cakes)



UntitledWith some royal icing and a piping bag in hand we set out to design our fashion cookies inspired by Delpozo’s eye-catching collection.

InStyle also asked us to offer their readers a set of undecorated sugar cookies – for a simple and delicious canvas on which to create their own dessert fashions.
